This would be encouraging testimony at the House and Senate energy committees. It seems that a few well-placed incentives could go a long way toward readjusting our thinking about what is possible to achieve.

I am flattered, Tim. Thank you. I wouldn't count on an emissions trading system in the U.S. but I like the extent to which renewable electric power generation has grown in this country. We just need more and more quickly. We also need to resist the urge to heap tariffs on solar panels manufactured in China. As nice as it would be to have them manufactured in the U.S. the world needs them now, as fast as they can be produced.

The lightweight transmission cable and the heat sensors can be put in place with minimal government involvement. Short-term access to transmission towers. The payoff for the transmission companies would be more watts moved and more payment. So it seems there wouldn't need to be government incentives either.
